Apprentices

If you wish to become an apprentice to me, you will ultimately have to agree to go under.

The best hypnotists know how to trance, and they know what to watch out for - the easy trancers, the closet sleepy kinksters who just love the trancing out but have little interest in having suggestions, and the blockheads and skeptics who either don't believe or who have a stubborn streak a mile wide and a "You don't tell me what to do!" or "Ha ha! I have a strong will! I can beat the hypnotists!" attitude.

But they only know how to trance because they have all had experience of trance from the inside. The feeling of slipping under, not at the moment when their eyes close but the moment they agree to begin to trance. The vague discontinuities, the strange sensations and actions, the WTF? decisions they make after a trance.

Those who have willingly had trance given to them know best how willingly to give trances to others; and for that reason, I insist that an apprentice hypnotist enjoy a number of sessions in a trance during their apprenticeship.
