Deepener - The Rowing Boat


What would it be like if you found yourself in a rowing boat on a body of water like a river, on a lovely warm sunny afternoon. I need to tell you that a friend of mine likes to go out in a boat in the summer, when the sky is blue with tiny fluffy clouds and the sun is shining high overhead on a slow, calm river, the kind of day that you know you just want to relax and drift off.

There is no feeling like pulling the oars in, letting yourself sit up in the boat, looking forwards, just coasting, drifting along the slow-moving, calm river.

When the weather is good, and you enjoy feeling comfortable in that boat, that means that you can sit back now, and just look up at the clouds and watch them drift by overhead, while you relax your body and take a deep breath in, slowly, and hold …

… and then let your breath out, let it go, as you let yourself go to the gentle rocking of the boat on the water, and you can experience it now as if you were there.

And then at the bottom of your outward breath, you hold …

… and as you relax, and it’s as if those gentle wavelets brush up against the boat, rocking it gently, left … right … forward … back … just tiny nudges, and your mind gently sways with it, letting go more and more with each gentle rock, and you really should enjoy going further and further along into deeper and deeper sleep each time …

… and the boat has been adrift now, for so long, and you have gone further and further in each time, deeper and deeper, every part of your body relaxed as the most relaxed part of you spreads relaxed across every part of your body, to the tips of your hair, down along your arms to your hands and fingers and fingertips, all the way down to your heels and ankles and feet and the tips of your toes, so relaxed and also so heavy, and you really should let yourself feel these deeply …

… and breathe in, slowly, and hold …

… and then breathe out, as the boat gently bobs on the water, and hold …

… and you only think of this as meditation, and meditation is good for your mind and your body …

… and it is so good to let yourself enjoy these pleasant feelings, more and more with each repeat visit, and remembering to breathe each time, and now you let yourself breathe in, slowly, deeply, and hold …

… and you have let your worries and woes gone, and all that remains is the good feelings and the relaxation …

… then breathe out more deeply, and hold …

… as you are twice as deep as you were before …

… and you only consciously think of this as meditation, and meditation is good for your mind and your body …

… and now breathe out, deeply, slowly and steadily, and as you breathe out you feel your body relax, the trance gets deeper, and at the bottom of your breath, you hold …

… to the point where you will immediately come back to this really deep state at any time that I say “secret sleep …”

… and you can experience this depth of trance at any time as if being in trance is so normal that it’s actually the default state of consciousness …

... and you consciously always think of this as meditation, and it feels so good to meditate like this, and it makes you feel healthier, more energised and happier each time you come back to this blog ...
